Not long until we open!!

Hi and welcome to my first ever blog post! I've received so many lovely messages via our social media posts and our chat function on the website that I wanted to take the chance to thank everyone who has taken the time to wish me well with this new venture! I've received a few questions and suggestions for the website so I thought I would answer them here as well as making some changes to the website, so that those who mentioned them know I really was listening and appreciate the feedback!

A few of you have asked about access to the site, if there are limitations or restrictions on size of vehicle etc that we can accommodate here at Auchtertyre Farm....well - this is a working farm, and throughout the winter we have regular deliveries from very large articulated trucks, so the short answer is no - there really is no limitation to the size of vehicle that's welcome here. The access is wide, and its straight off the A87 and will be well signposted so hopefully there will be no issues regardless of size!

Another question 'do you have somewhere to empty chemical toilets' - absolutely, yes we do, and you don't have to be staying overnight to use the facility, you can select only to use the facilities on the Paypal menu - we charge £5 to empty waste and take on water.

'Are dogs welcome' - yes, absolutely! However, I do need to insist that they are kept on leads at all times whilst on the farm. I'm planning to upload some photos and directions for good dog walks directly from the farm.

As it stands, we think we will be able to welcome you from the 26th of April, perfect time to enjoy the spring weather (see photo, its a beautiful crisp spring but the trees haven't burst in to leaf yet!) but we're awaiting confirmation from the Scottish Government as to the relaxation of Covid restrictions. In the meantime, stay safe, and we look forward to being able to offer you a safe and welcoming off road space to park up and relax for the night!
